IIT Patna Latest Updates
JoSAA counselling of JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025 will start on June 3. The applicants who are looking to get admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST, and GFTIs need to register on josaa.nic.in. There are five rounds of seat allotment, fee submission, and document verification involved in the process. The approximate timeline is from June to July, and vacant seats will be managed by CSAB.
IIT Delhi has uploaded the IIT JAM 2025 Answer Key and Student Response Sheet on the JOAPS portal. Candidates can login at jam2025.iitd.ac.in to download them. Objections against the provisional answer key can be submitted from February 14 to February 20, 2025. The IIT JAM 2025 results will be announced on March 19, 2025.
IIT Delhi will announce the IIT JAM 2025 answer key on today at jam2025.iitd.ac.in. Students can verify the section-wise marking scheme and match their answers with the answer key. The response sheet and details of the result will also be published soon on the official website.
The IIT JAM 2025 exam has been conducted with great success on February 2, 2025, in two shifts. The answer key might be published in the second week of February, and the final answer key will come out in the first week of March. Results are declared to be released on March 19, 2025. Exam difficulty varies subject-wise.

IIT Patna Eligibility Criteria for 2025
BS/ B.Tech.: The interested students are required to secure a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ ST/ Backward classes) in their 10+2 or equivalent examinations. The examinations must be completed by a recognized University/ Board. The students are also required to secure qualifying marks at JEE Mains/ JEE Advanced to be eligible for securing admission in B.Tech. Course.
M.Tech.: The interested students are required to secure a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ ST/ Backward classes) in their graduation in B.Tech course or equivalent examinations. The examinations must be completed by a recognized University/ Board. The students are also required to secure qualifying marks at GATE to be eligible for securing admission in B.Tech. course.
M.Sc.: The interested students are required to secure a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ ST/ Backward classes) in their graduation or equivalent examinations. The examinations must be completed by a recognized University/ Board. The students are also required to secure qualifying marks at JAM (Joint Admission test for Masters) to be eligible for obtaining admission in B.Tech. Course.
Ph.D.: Admission to the course is granted on the basis of an interview or written test held tentatively in the month of December and May- July every year.

Selection criteria: Valid scores in JEE Main and JEE Advanced Entrance Exam followed by JoSAA counseling.

Selection criteria: Valid score on the GATE entrance exam
Eligibility criteria: Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering field with at least 8.5/ 6.25 for General and SC/ST respectively (For IITs Graduates) and a minimum 60% aggregate if candidates are graduated from non-IITs.
For MSc Admissions
Selection Criteria: The IIT JAM entrance examination scores are used to select candidates for the MSc program. Previous academic records are taken into account while determining the final merit list.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) to be eligible for admission to the IIT Patna M.Sc. program.
For Ph.D. Admissions
Selection criteria: The entrance exams considered for Ph.D. admission at IIT Patna are UGC/ CSIR NET (JRF) examination, SET, GATE (with a valid score), or Teacher Research Fellowship, followed by IIT Patna Ph.D. Interview.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have received at least 7 CGPA in the required disciplines (without rounding off) in their master's degree from universities/ institutions accredited by the UGC / AICTE / NCTE to be considered for this program.

The IIT Patna cut off 2024 for round 1 has been released by JoSAA. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the programme-wise cutoff for the All India quota, open seat type, and gender. The IIT Patna B.Tech cut-off 2024 will be declared in multiple rounds of counselling as per the availability of seats. The cutoff is based on ranks secured by students in JEE Advanced 2024. As per the cutoff, the closing rank for the open category is 2985 and the OBC category is 55. Moreover, IIT Patna cutoff for JEE Advanced 2024 for SC and ST categories is 1595 and 805.

- IIT Patna has a fully equipped Central Library with the modern technology of automation and a self-check-in and check-out system. The library of IIT Patna also provides E-books and is open all days of the week.

- IIT Patna has laboratories for all the disciplines for the courses at the College. The students are allowed to conduct their own examinations and experiments with the guidance of the faculty members.
- IIT Patna has separate hostel facilities available for girls and boys, and the hostels are situated on the campus of IIT Patna. Currently, there are over 1200 students residing in these hostels. Regular bus services are provided to the hostellers for to and fro movement from their hostels to the academic buildings.

- The entire campus is surveilled through CCTV cameras and security guards 24*7. Medical facilities and any medical help are also available at all times of the day.

IIT Patna Scholarships
Merit cum Means Scholarships at IIT Patna are offered to the students on a merit basis. Students are required to fill in the application forms available on the University'suniversity official website and on the basis of which results are announced for the qualifying students.
The scholarship grant for the selected students are as follows:
- For General & OBC students-
- Tuition fees are waived
- Allowance of INR 1000/- per month for two semesters ( 8 months in a year )
- For SC & ST Students-
- Fees for the Basic menu at the mess will be waived off
- Payments to the Hostel will be waived off
- Allowance of INR 250/- per month for two semesters ( 8 months in a year )

If you are not allotted any seat in the first round of JoSAA then you have to wait for the second round of seat allotment. JoSAA will release the seat allotment result in 6 rounds for IIT Patna and other institutes based on seat availability. You do not need to reapply or submit a different application form for the second round of counselling. Your application is still valid for all subsequent rounds of counselling once you have applied for JoSAA. Keep checking the results for all the rounds of allotment till you get a seat.
